    Default error verifying steam ticket?

    I'm relatively new to the hidden: source so i got it because i saw loads of people doing it (duh) now i head to the tutorial (cause I'm a noob) choose everything and finally it tells me: Error Verifying Steam Ticket (i might have missed a word out sorry D help me out please thank you

    p.s I downloaded it using modDB if that helps and it installed fine

    Cheers Paegus, I nearly went through the roof. I can understand not searching (no wait, I can't at all! ) but I put a fix up for this like, a day ago. It's like no one uses Google anymore...

    Actually I had the same problem the past two days. I deleted the .dlls, even logged out and in again, just in case.
    Nothing helped, still got the verifying steam ticket error.
    Now I even contacted steam support... just in case, too.

    Steam Support answered
    I am to delete everything from my Steam folder, except the "steam.exe" and the "steamapps" folder. Keep both the steamapps folder and steam.exe!
    I did this, but this also triggeres the Steamguard, so you better have your email adress access and of course your steam login handy.
    So far it seems to work, but I need to load up Hidden first to be sure.

    Prince's solution works but its not the most reliable way. Do that then delete the Userdata folder in Steam and restart it and you'll be good as new
