Since there's not really a section for something like this, I'll post it here

I have an interesting mod for Hidden, changing Klaus Grubbers head to Ghost Rider (Keep in mind the model isn't the best... I can't help it :(), my reason for doing this is just so I could see if it was possible, being able to change a characters head to your own model and texture, this also might be possible if you have your own server and wish to change the models of the IRIS to something more awesome, like maybe changing Klaus to Hunk from Resident Evil or something else. ;)

Ghost Rider:

the Installation Read Me in each folder is important to read.

Small note, there's a weird lighting glitch that causes him to be very shiny, I do not know hot to fix it at the moment, if I find a fix for it I will upload a new file. [This Issue as Been Resolved, download the new link.][Another glitch has been fixed that I didn't know about where the textures on supply characters where switched.]

Hey everyone! I've found a way that you can run The Hidden: Source on Mac OS X without any lag and *almost* no problems!
For this tutorial you will need some files/software

The Hidden: Source

Windows Steam installer

Wineskin

Disclaimer:

Code:

I am not responsible for any harm or side-effects this guide has on your computer.

I am also sorry that I suck at writing guides and I will also answer any questions you have.

INITIAL INSTALLATION
You need to install Wineskin in order to continue

First you want to open Wineskin Winery and download the latest Wineskin engine.

Afterwards you want to click "Create New Blank Wrapper"
You can name the app whatever you want, so I'm going to call it "The-Hidden"

When prompted to install "Mono" just click cancel. We do not need to install this.

After doing a bit of loading, you should be prompted with dialog. You want to click "View wrapper in Finder"

INSTALLTION

Now you want to click on your newly created app and select "Show Package Content"
Inside you want to open Wineskin.app and click "Install Software" and "Choose Setup Executable"
You then want to navigate to the Steam installer you downloaded and run that. Act like it is a normal install because it will go as one.

Eventually your app will crash and you will be asked to select a executable. You want to take the dropdown menu and select "/Program Files/Steam/Steam.exe"
You then want to navigate back and open up the main app. You will be prompted with the Steam "updating" dialog and eventually a blank Steam login screen.

You can now quit out of your application

If you still have the Wineskin.app running from your app directory, switch to that. If it is not running you can navigate back and open it again.

You should now select "Advanced".
Enter into the "EXE Flags" "-no-dwrite"
Now you should now "Test Run"

Login to Steam with your normal username and password and select "Remember Password"

You can now quit your app and go back to Wineskin.

Once in Wineskin select "Install Software" and open "The Hidden" installer.
Continue the installation of The Hidden as if it was on a normal computer.
After installing you will be promted with an error dialog like this:

it is completely normal dismiss it.

Now that The Hidden is installed, reopen your app. It should launch Steam like normal.
You now want to install Source SDK Base 2006. It should be located under Library -> Tools

After installing Source SDK Base 2006, you should be able to go to library and launch The Hidden!

POST-INSTALL
If you want to have The Hidden launch everytime you open the app you need to go back into Wineskin and goto Advanced.
You want to goto the EXE Flags and add

Code:

-applaunch 215 -game "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\sourcemods\hidden"

When you launch the .app now The Hidden should automatically launch!

FAQ
Q: When I quit The Hidden the screen turns black.
A: This is normal and show go away after a few seconds. As far as I know there is no fix. If it doesn't go away after a few seconds trying hitting CMD+Tab then right click the application and click "quit".

Things to try to fix problems:

Restart The Hidden

Check if Steam is running on your computer.

Restart your computer.

Sup, it's been a while.

I've started playing again a few days ago, turns out it's like riding a bicycle. Someone's gotta teach all those SeaNanners nooblets that it isn't just about topping the scoreboard, after all.
The only trouble I've had is with getting all my old custom stuff back in order.
I managed to cook up my own random taunt script, since some of Paegus' posts seem to have gone missing from the forum, no such luck with the custom HUD however.
Found a cached version of the thread via google, but that obviously didn't cache the file attachment and it doesn't seem to exist anywhere else on the internet.
Not sure if Peagus just doesn't want it on the web, or if he's even around anymore, but I hope one of you kind folks is still using it and could upload/post their hudlayout.res for me.

/Edit: The search is over, thanks to Paegus for making this stuff in the first place and Tripwire for digging up the hud layout file for me.

Here's the random taunt key I salvaged from google:

Spoiler:

Add this to your /cfg/autoexec.cfg

Code:

Hej Everyone!

This Thread shall not be used as an Announcement, or worse, an Advertisement, but we (me and my Team out of "Pro's in Acting ;)) are making, or better said, planning to do a Hidden:Source RL Trailer (or Short Film, what ever). The Plot is a Team (IRIS) searching for it in a Location we don't know yet - maybe a cliff, a building or some - , and the Story isnt done alrdy, but it will be like 2-3 Minutes long (may shorter/longer) and a serious Project for us.

The Question now is (and now i'm asking the community and the developers/copyright-guardians); are we allowed to use Trademarks of this game like the name, maybe some items, just the concept and so on. I dont know much about CP and all this Stuff, iam quietly 16 (my friends too), and that's why i'm asking. I already had problems with music in my earlier years i tried to make films on my own, and i don't want to get in trouble with the game-makers itself.

Ofcourse you are allowed to decline this idea (if u wish to), or wait for seeing some of our "results" - i will wait.

By the way, we dont have a community either, just like 100 views per each video, because we are making our videos for friends and family, and it's just fun.

Greetz, Arkian123!
