I love hidden source, but i think that because theres no definitive direction apart from kill the hidden and kill the marines, it becomes a bit of a camp fest. People need to be penalised for camping somehow, or the hidden needs to be made more powerful by limiting the ammount of 1 hit pig sticker kills he can do but normal swipes should be 2 - 3 instead of 4 and increase his Hit Points. Currently, if you have a whole marine team camping in a room, its absoloutely impossible to win as hidden. So this needs to be considered.

Also, I propose for you guys to make a gameplay mode similar to the escort the VIP like in CS. That would be awesome and encourage more teamplay and also tact. It would also give the game more direction.

Besides, if there was a VIP, how easy would it be for a hidden just to double/triple nade him before the Iris even had a clue where he was?

Even with disabled pipebombs, it would be easy for the hidden to slash the vip to death without the IRIS knowing where the hell he is. That is unless the map is designed in such a way to allow the IRIS to protect the VIP.

It's not a good idea anyway. :rolleyes:

Or unless the VIP could regenerate health, or some other crazy gameplay feature to counterbalance the fact that VIP's are generally vulnerable to hit&run... and that's what the Hidden is BEST at.

OOH! He would be invulnerable to slashing damage!

BUT! ANY amount of falling / phys / teamwound damage would annihilate him instantly!

This would mean that his fellow IRIS members would have to create little human ladders for him to walk down places, and leap in front of oncoming hidden-thrown objects!

I would so play that.

Sounds sorta like lemmings... but with a box/ crate/ pallet/ barrel/ evil teddy bear throwing-drugged-up-pouncing-invisible guy thrown in.

With the VIP being the guy with persuadatron. "Come to me, mind-controlled slav...brand new friends! Protect me from the hostilities and dangers of the world, as I am on very important business and there are many nasty people about!"

What about an object then, or a way so that the hidden doesn't know who the VIP is?

Trying too hard at this point...

I think a vip wouldnt fit the hidden theme well. Besides extraction point mode allows mappers to create a myriad of different scenarios...
