View Full Version : I bought me a new guitar.

18th March 2007, 07:24
Okay, I just bought me a new guitar after having my old Ibanez Gio AX30 for 3, almost 4 years now.

This is my old guitar:

That Ibanez cost me 350$ at the time and served me damn well.

But now, I bought me this:

ESP, LTD edition m-400 series.

This bomb cost me 877.77$ taxes included, CND. Oh yeah, it was worth the hard labour I had to do to get this money.

It has a floyd rose, wich is FUCKING awsome, EMG 81' active pickups.

It's a neck-thru, unlike my old one, which is a bolt-on.

Anyways, thought I would share this majestic new purchase with you guys, even if anny of you probably do not have a clue who I am.

But, here is a picture of me playing my old Ibanez at a venue me and the band played at on Feb 23rd.

^ Me

^The band (Epicentre)

^The band and Insurrection. Notice I am quite..small ? Okay..maybe not as small as the other dudes on the right, but compared to my band, aye.

Cheers ;)

This is my guitar. The pickups are probably its weakest point, as they aren't really active, nor are they even close to the ESP crunch, sound-wise. However, they're still way past average. *And* I have a licensed floyd rose and the second fastest fretboard my hands have ever disgraced. And mine's built in Japan, which means I paid half of what you did for a guitar that's roughly 95% of yours, in terms of quality. Perhaps more.

See, when you buy a guitar, there's a certain limit to how much you can pay before you're either paying for the brand, the guy who plays the brand, the guy who designed the guitar or the gems that are plated into every corner of it to make it bling. Or all of the above. The best (acoustic) guitar I ever played was a handmade Korean guitar that a friend of mine got for something like 200 quid. It was a remnant of a brand that tried to make it in the industries about ten years ago by selling cheap and sturdy guitars, but failed miserably (due to the fact that everyone wants ESP, Musicman, Dean, Ibanez or Fender (not in that order),) and had been lying around the shop ever since.

Anyways. This sounds like a negative post, but, really, the only negative thing about it is how you had to pay 878 $ for something that's really just repressing the notion of granting quality instruments to musicians with realistic musician-wages.

I mean, seriously. Kick-ass guitar. Piss prices, good guitar. Rock on.

Har, yeah the price was a wee bit harsh, but, for me, it's worth it, this guitar is awsome, astounding even, I just hope that, if I do break the neck on it and my warranty is no longer valid well, shit on me.

Wow dude, that nice. I was thinking of getting an LTD but decided against it. My mate got an ESP LTD Viper. It's badass. I love EMG pickups :D

Edit: I see you are wearing a Bodom shirt. I freakin love Bodom. Kissing The Shaddows FTW~!

Har har, hells yes, but bodom is not my favourite band ;) .

They are great tho. Annyways, me and the band are currently recording, and we have 2 upcomming gigs so...I'll get the video from one of the shows, and I'll post up our mp3's when we get em'

After a couple days of being around GuitarHero, I get absolutely sick of all those songs. And oh my how they killed "killing in the name of" with the vocals. :o
