Looks a bit too clean, and those bricks really need a normal map (doesn't look like this texture has one). The displacement on the ground should be a bit bumpier too, big bumps. And how about some stucco and hieroglyphs, and people with snake heads? :)

Stargate all the way
These screens have no displacement on the floor appart from near stairs.
If someone would find the time to make some textures and models that would fit in this setting.

If you don't need highly detailed models i'd give it a shot, ported my first complete model to HL2 today, still need to figure out some stuff. Textures is another story.. i'm quite busy with my own map atm, especially now that i create some models, too. You could try some of the original HL2 textures, or wait, got something here somewhere...

That's a tool to make brick textures, haven't tried it yet but it seems to be quite good.

Itís to clean needs to have broken walls and some fallen statues or something, would be nice to see some sunlight coming through a hole in the roof those vines must have come from somewhere. ^^

There is moonlight.(look at bottom of stairs)
The hole is closed with a grid but maybe I will make it Iris insertion.
Had soe serious problems with the displacedments, the physics fall right trough.
As for the fallen thing, tried it. (firts thing I did but it looked silly in this room)
Will use it in other room.

Well there goes my afternoon trying to make a func_vphyscollide (or something like that) that looks slightly like the displacement.

I think its too dark. Looks like a very good start though, good theme for a hidden map, just light up the walls a bit or it will be impossible to spot the hidden.

well i will put a generator and this will be the origin for the pwer that goes to different spotlights that may be placed for some light effects.
I aggree about the fact that the boxes seem kinda strange but its a temp solution untill i find a nicer methode to lead the wires.

Before saying its to dark, the hidden is clearly spottable when he's in this area.

I'm still looking for egyptian style decals and textures, will give it a try to make them on my own later this week.

Looking even better! Im digging the fire-lighting. They should make a "yelp!" sound for when the hidden touches fire :D

Oi, those vines, are they a prop static or something? I've been covering my map in overlay vines, looks dumb and flat, I need that stuff.

edit: found the prop, yay moar realnesses

texturing is not yet 100%
I feel that this area misses something.
I'll add some rings to the pillars and maybe break up the walls a little

Nice! That guy made you some great textures. What I can say is it looks brand new though, needs some debris-age and dirty-age. Ehh, too bad all the rocky debris from hl2 is poured concrete, which wont mix with that sandstone. Also... dustmotes up the waazoo (wtf is that word anyway?), but you got those already.

I'll maybe add some more motes.
I also discovered that that some of the textures arent originally that guy's:eek:
But I have contact with the original user (from the stargate tc mod from hl1)
It's a small internet world.
You can add debree but you need to add sand so you don't notice it so well that it's concrete:rolleyes:
I'm in a mappers group that are making fanmaps for the upcoming stargate the last stand mod and I just converted a map from stargate tc (hl1)to hl² DM and redid all the lighting and texturing.
