This is my first map. It's pretty small and needs work, but I want to put it out there now in hopes that I can get some feedback before I put any more time into it.

It is set in an auto shop. There is a reception area with 2 bathrooms below an office area. Both exit to the main garage area. There are vents connecting the offices and the bathrooms to a storage area in the garage.[/URL]

B4 Update:
Yeah, B2-3 were private beta so we're skipping straight to B4 here. This version now has an outside. There are front and back parking lots, side alley, side junk yard, and roof access. I have removed the vents because they were problematic. This is pretty much as far as I am going to go with this map. I will polish it further based on any feedback here, then release the final product.

Disregarding the visual assets, I'd have mistaken it for a Rainbow Six map. No, not Vegas. Not Rogue Spear. That Rainbow Six.

Video game Retro.

That's a nice start Phaedrus! Quite small, but definately worth investing some more time to improve it! :)

A few suggestions:

- All the parts of the metal stairs are textured the same, looks odd.
- The wodden beams on the ceiling don't look right on the brick pillars, mainly because of their width. You could make the pillars go right beneath the ceiling and make the beams somewhat smaller so they fit between them. This way the beams would be "anchored" in the brick wall.
- The light switches of the bath rooms are positioned a bit too high.
- The vents are too small, it's hard to get into one as Hidden.
- Same for the catwalk, it's too small for the most part. That's a pain for the Iris.
- The doors only seem to open in one direction. This may be more realistic, but is very unusual for a game (flags -> uncheck "one-way"). Also, the door and window frames don't need to stick out of the wall, doesn't look bad but players happen to get stuck there regularly.

I guess that's it so far. If you really want to improve it make it larger. Not only the map as a whole (you could add a scrap yard for example), the shop itself should also become a bit bigger.

Nice work!

Thanks for the great feedback. That's very helpful. I will work on it.

Hi! I've been away from the forum almost 3 months - sig tells you why - but now I have some time to check up a bit!

As you may have noticed, I collect self-made hidden-maps... (also in the sig), and so I'm also interesed in yours.

The pics look nice, map seems rather small, but playable (but hard for 9 ppl, it seems) and the lights also look good. I'm missing some more props, and I didn't have the chance to run through it yet - cause I'm not at home... ;)

scratch already told you some improvements and I also will when I played on it, so I just ask, are you working on it so there will be another version? I'd really like to see one!

I haven't done much work on it lately, but it is much further along than this thread indicated. I have added an outside parking lot and junk yard area. The surrounding buildings and terrain are still unfinished but most of the playable area is done. I need to go through and polish it up some. Also, I think it is over-propped and I need to remove some stuff. I will update soon.

Nice to hear, so I'll wait for the next version to download! I'm curious!

Better overproped than underproped :D!

I've updated the first post with the latest build (B4) of this map. It is pretty much complete, at least as much as I intend to do. This will be the last beta. After some final polishing, I will release a final version and be done with it. Please check it out and let me know what needs work. Big changes are out of the question at this point because I am pretty much tired of this map and have some new idea I want to work on.

Not really. They are just Hidden platforms. The wood plank ladder makes all the differance :D

Indeed, that's a nice treehouse. Would be amusing to see IRIS try and camp there.

The main building's exterior looks a little drab. Got stains?

Edit: Holy crap, why didn't I notice the datemarks on this thread? Damn brain's getting faulty...

Just right, I already downloaded it, when I find some time, I'll take a closer look on this map.

Next week I'm on a LAN-Party, we will play it there, afterwards, I can tell you more! Cool map!

Okay, I took a walk on that map and... WOAH! Nice work. I've played on one of the very first versions, and the final one might really fun to play.

I like the car-elevators, the glass-windows on the ceiling, and I wanna kill smb with this big concrete cylinder :D

The idea with the louder footsteps on the roof is really nice... scary element!

However, you could make some props throwable. There are some tires, tables, trash-bins and other stuff you could make throwable for physik-kills. Seems a bit ridiculus, you can throw a big wood-crate, but no tire or trash bin... ;)

I've added it to the mappack, if everything is going to work, I'll upload it today... you'll find the link in the custom map thread...

Thank you for the map! :)
