You forgot to get the hotfix that fixes the restartround exploit. We just got our game ruined by some asshole.

Server hotfix (http://www.hidden-source.com/downloads/hdn-serverupdate-4.1.zip)

Please download and install that.

Doesn't the hidden-beta4a2-server.zip (http://www.hidden-source.com/downloads/hidden-beta4a2-server.zip) update file include this fix as well as a few other goodies?

What's a wallworm?

Sounds like something from a horror movie.

Yeah! Isn't there a movie about sand-worms, huge sand-worms? :)

There's just one thing, that's even more dangerous than Subject 617... it's the WALLWORM!

Don't know the name. It must be an old movie! Something scary....

Maybe I just mixed something up and some scenes of "Beetlejuice" got in my mind... :D

Maybe its a reference to the little worms that live in the walls of the labyrinth.

Was this directed towards my game server? If so... an email would have been nice! :P It looks like, were this important... it took a while to get to me!

Better late than never!

My server will include testing of a new map (actually it's just the next generation of one I started a long time ago called hdn_sacrelige_beta4 ). I can't say when... but probably in a few months. I finally learned 3ds and modelling ... so the next incarnation should be a lot cooler.

In case any modellers see this... one of the things I recently made is http://wallworm.com/projects/utilities/docs/ to send models from 3ds Max to Source a lot faster. Pass it on to your team. It does the QCs, compiling, vtfs... all that!

It will definitely make the jazzing of maps go a lot faster... and custom maps is really the focus of our group. We do Counter-Strike mostly... but we also love Hidden. So hopefully we have some to test on our server soon... and then to share.

PS. Maybe send the next message via telepathy??? Just an idea!?

Oh yeah... as to what wallworms are... I'll explain at some future point in time. But I do hear they are good on a cracker!

1) some form of contact information in the MOTD is useful... of something like ccake's comment thingy

2) hdn_sacrelige... or sacrilege? spell-check ftw

nitpick lvl up!

Point taken... the MOTD probably doesn't have the contact info. I've had emails from Hidden players over the years asking to ban player X, Y or Z... so someone figured out how to contact me somehow! :P

And yes... the name was mispelled (as discussed in the map thread at http://forum.hidden-source.com/showthread.php?t=8698 ). For some reason when I made it I had a long-lasting brain fart where the word sacrilege was incorrectly tied to the word "religion" in my mind. The CS version I've been working on ( http://www.shawnolson.net/a/1461/august-27-2010-newsletter.html#section3D ) is spelled correctly (as will, I predict, the Hidden version).

When I worked as a reporter, we had editors for that. When I type essays, I have MS Word spell check. But the damn Hammer doesn't check my spelling! Oh well... I'm American... be glad I can use at least half a dozen three syllable words!
