View Full Version : Top 5 Team Killer List misleading...

I think the Top Team Killers list is misleading. It shows the maximum number of team kills, so if you've played long like 1 (one) (http://hidden-stats.co.uk/profile.php?s=STEAM_0:0:6315001) you end up on this list even though you're not an intentional team killer.

Any chance you could change the Top Team Killers to a ratio, like "Total Kills / TKs"? If we did that the intentional Team Killers like Personal Jihad are the only ones that would show up, and the good players like 1 wouldn't. It'd be a lot easier for servers like mine to find them and ban them too.

this is not a bug,

True it is shown that he plays alot and they are not on purpose, but still... THey are team kills, and as such he is ranked accordingly. Hidden Stats are stats, not a form of Abuse Tracker :).

That example you cited is pretty rubbish. a 10% kills to TK ratio is terrible. Good players have something like 0.1%.

Hmm, I think you need to read a little more into my meaning. Good player as in a player that is playing the game, not just killing IRIS to kill IRIS, not a "Good Player" as in terrific stats.

OK fair enough, I do see your point. I had a chat with raider about it earlier just after I replied and we came to the conclusion that that particular module shouldnt change but we might put in a different module - top 5 griefers - that is weighted a lot more toward heavily tk dominated kill counts etc. I havnt worked out the ranking algorithm yet as it's more tricky than you might imagine so give me a bit of time and we'll probably have somthing knocked up.

:( I'm a horrible tk'er, mine is 0.74% :(

;)

TBH, I've banned some (not all) of the people on the top 5 tk list just for being there - but I look at the player stats myself first.

Some TK's happen by accident. Mine for example I was aiming at the hidden with the scope in sewers and as a resuylt couldnt see team mates. As I went to shoot an IRIS ran in front of me.

C'mon, you don't think I know that?

That's why I look at the individual player stats. When a guy has 200-ish "IRIS kills" total and 191 of them are tks, that's not a guy accidentally running in front of him.

Sounds good. I guess I always, and perhaps others as well, relate the term "Team Killer" as having a negative connotation. Perhaps renaming the list you already have was something like "Friendly Fire Kills" and the new list of intentional Team Killers was "Team Killers"... May sound stupid, but killing from Friendly Fire denotes an unintentional "opps" heat-of-the-battle type of label... whereas "Team Killer" is a guy out for trouble.

Thoughts?
