i was playing in -FraggL-T!Me- ( tonight at around 22:50 and this guy akira (http://hidden-stats.co.uk/profile.php?s=STEAM_0:0:7827403) was in there. on several occations i saw him moving around as hidden at what seemed to me to be just too fast and consistently so. as in he constantly moved along the ground and there was no pause to indicate landing and pouncing. i grabbed a demo but didn't seem to get anything overtly incriminating... until i watched it from a bird's eye view (yay for cl_demoviewoverride 1). tell me if this seems a tad fast to you: google Video (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7508110267511965299) for higher-than-youtube-quality or filefront (http://files.filefront.com/akiraavi/;5424287;;/fileinfo.html) for full sized.

and that little shit calls ME a cheater when i sniped him

yeah i saw him bouncing around in the water in a previous round and though wth? shrugged it off as uncoordinated jump-pouncing. then i saw him charging back and forth by the flower beds and almost laughed myself silly.

Edit; Nevermind, i'm a fool for not lookin' abit closer

It's obviously just sped up

Would you go back, watch it again and pay special attention to the round clock at the top of the screen?

I'd say it's fairly obvious it's not sped up... How about we are sure of our facts before calling others ignorant?

19th August 2006, 14:54
there's also the iris team movement speeds...

and it wasn't my rates either [/injoke] :p

19th August 2006, 17:49
definitely a speed hack, and cheers for the cool command i didnt know existed :P

19th August 2006, 18:12
np but it only works nicely if you have demo_recordcommands 0 set (in your autoexec.cfg). otherwise you'll find your perspective being dragged about by the fwd/back/left/right controls input by the recorder... which is slightly annoying.

e: i type too damn fast...

Shift + F2 -> Drive ftw tbh.

21st August 2006, 21:39
what exactly does that do anyway?

22nd August 2006, 11:08
Well if you haven't figured it out already, you can fly the camera around by holding down the left mouse button with drive activated.

oh so it's a button form of cl_demoviewoverride 1 then... i tried using it ages ago but nothing happened when i clicked it and there was no tooltip to clue me in so figured it was broke or not fully implimented yet

shoulda been called freeview or something...

26th August 2006, 01:26
I know how to do the third person view... but how do you change everything to the "wireframe" view in demo playback?

26th August 2006, 06:57
Mat_wireframe 1 :)
