Well, another speedhacker, wallhacker. Realized Deus was cheating when i was playing as the hidden. Was lucky enough to die quick one round and recorded this demo. Pretty obvious he is moving faster then normal but use mat_wireframe 1 and you can see he is tracking the hidden through walls too. Ca$h also picked up on him and i think he recorded a demo too. He turned them off later and played innocent. Oh well, too late.

How is that possible?

hi,

infoceptor i watched ur demo twice and used map_wireframe 1
he is obiously using a wallhack!! - he always focused hidden in center of his view, even when walls were between AND he tried to shoot him through walls

...and what do u think about this one?: (divx codec, 1:20 min)
this guy might have a wallhack running:

if u agree, u can get more information or better video quality

Whenever I try to watch demos HL2 starts up... wha? I also crashed last time I tried to make a demo and the one that I thought made sucessfully is like a second in length and it's just black w/ no sound.

Ya, i'd have to say that guy was pretty suspicious. The fact that he stops, you know that he realized you were there. When he stops, it seems like he is looking up, through the wall at you, although i could tell for sure with a demo. When he comes out, he is already looking up and starts immediately shooting. You gave him no clue that you were there, it is simply too much of a coincidence.

Your right Pan, didn't realize you had the same person. Ahhh well, more proof. :p
Its a pity they don't have a sticky with all the hackers and their id's for easy reference.

I could have sworn I banned that guy already. Put in again.

given a recent post i'd say not necessarily a wallhack though a cheat nonetheless.
and just to say: sitting on that ledge infront of the light is almost as bad as being by a mesh or on a catwalk.

I don't see whats dodgy about that video, the light is one of the easiest places to check for the refraction and most players I know, do. I was in that game and he wasn't playing like a superstar at all.

granted a demo would be better so we can see where he's looking but it looks like he paused for a bit possibly looking through the wall, came out and fired directly at him. in my experience you're only really visible by that light from the other direction where the refraction buggers the lines of the light itself.

it could have been pure bs luck as well...

is there a way to replay the demo from another persons view?

or

lets meet on a empty server to check if an IRIS can see hiddens feet from that angle?

Stopped there, like I normally do to see if the hidden is above and going to pounce down as soon as I step out, when no attack came he came out and checked the place. If hes had it done to him earlier in the game its likely he'll check every time, if not then its likely he'll check every other time. If he was cheating, he'd have been sure to make a few more dodgy kills than that (which to me isn't even dodgy).

Sitting in front of those lights is one of the most obvious places on stalkyard when it comes to spotting the hidden because of the straight line of light being refracted to - not a straight line.

Its crazy to get killed and cry hax when theres absolutely nothing there to suggest it. The guy wasn't winning every round, he hadn't had any dodgy kills on anyone before then and after you left he didn't get any dodgy kills on me. This was just you being shot.

ok ok convinced!! - it was just bad luck then

hopefully I will learn someday not to see haxxors everywhere :(

Someone mentioned an ingame demo-editor - how does that work?

btw:
bind "F9" "record round" doesn't work as it was meant to do.
When I first hit F9 it records a demo called "round.dem".
bind "F12" "stop" completes the record.
When I hit F9 again it should automatically increment and create a demo called round2, but its doesn't.

Instead it overwrites the first record! Normal behaviour?

not with someone else's eye but you can use demo_togglepause and cl_demoviewoverride 0/1 to disconnect from your perspective and see things from a different angle... with or without wireframe: http://www.youtube.com/?v=tR--RjkFz1U

and i eat my words... in roughly the same positions for both players:

you can just see the foot if you're looking..

there used to be an append demo command in hl1 but i think they removed or disabled it. you'll either need a cycle script that changes what f9 does each tiem you press it or make a shell scrip that updates an console-executable file with say the current date&time. that way you'll get a unique name each time
