Hi All.

I have a spare server at my datacentre that is getting next to no use, due to me buying a newer server, So I was thinking of using the spare one as a Dedicated Server.

So I would like to know what version of linux you think would be best to install?

The spare server is a 1Ghz Raq server with 2gb ram.

Thanks for your time.

Whatever really. Something small and simple like debian is good if you know what you are doing, alternatively if you are a noob at linux then perhaps a more patronising and fluffy version like ubuntu - although the ubuntu server distro is prett darned good (its basocly ubuntu regular distro with all the bollocks taken out).

At the end of the day, it all boils down to the kernel and c libraries you run pretty much. Pick a combination you are comfortable with.

I have desided to go with debian.
