Hi friends.
After a long break I started to play a bit again. ;)
And guess what ? (we need more cowbell !)

3 more fucktards who keeps TK everyone.

Rapier (STEAM_0:1:8873738) (http://stats.hidden-source.com/profile.php?s=STEAM_0:1:8873738), Raper (STEAM_0:0:16983367) (http://stats.hidden-source.com/profile.php?s=STEAM_0:0:16983367) and RAPED (STEAM_0:1:16237079) (http://stats.hidden-source.com/profile.php?s=STEAM_0:1:16237079). They look new to Hidden source.

I'm too busy to loose my time and record those bastards, but... I've got this.

I know you're certainly not going to do anything, but you are all warned, and now those douches got their topic.

No demo needed with those stats...
The names give no indication at all, though :)

i can confirm this.

they started teamkilling randomly on 'Free Cookies Server'

all permabanned.
didnt have the time to record a demo of them, but better watch out when they join a server....

No idea how this could happen on HB, but I banned all three of them again.
I write the IDs with "rcon writeid", which should save the new banlist.
But the list is rather short, "only" 29 entries, I'm sure I banned more. Anyone any ideas?

Just write them into the ban list yourself?

Way back when we found that when the ban list got to big (over 1000) it would reset or drop ids. That's why we use our own database instead of the writeid thing now.

Not my server, I got rcon, but that's it. :(

If you can be trusted with rcon I would imagine you could be trusted with ftp access...

yes because rcon lets you alter the file-set permanently... albeit accidentally.

either way i've been thinking of writing my own ban list as well to keep track of the reasons etc and because i've also noticed the list decaying over time. too bad hlsw wont be able to interact directly with it... but it would mean prior bans are remembered for repeat offenses and temp bans don't vanish on server restart.

Must be running out of servers with players to try playing on.

Scuzzy, i assume you handle your server's bans in an external database right?

all i've got so far is an automatic reply on un/banning...

and it only picks up sm_addban or sm_ban entries. could add a log hook for rcon banids i suppose... but i prefer to have a reason attached.

Yeah, our bans are stored within mySQL. When someone connects they see one of two messages, either "Perm Banned on 12/12/1212" for perm bans or "Banned Until 12/12/1212" for temp bans. If they want the reason they have to find themselves on the Llama List or Perm Ban Log on our site.

Our system captures the information from "sm_ban", "sm_unban", "sm_addban", etc, including target/reason/time/etc. We do not have any external banning or unbanning commands that don't come with SM natively.

Hooking rconid bans would be a pain in the ass. If this guy doesn't have his own db/etc, he can use HLSW with rcon access to create his own ban list in HLSW and write that to the server (which should write it to the banned.cfg file) Or pull our banned.cfg from the Hidden Team-Killer / Hack Banned List link in my sig...

Is SBDB steam bans?

no it's my own (albeit mis-acronymed) SimpleDataBasedBans plugin which just uses the local sqlite database. I don't have any external one set up at the moment though i was thinking of asking chilly about setting one up and possibly even suggesting a fun wee quirk added to the player's stats page that tracks the number of bans and what servers have triggered them... which might be interesting if not a bit tricky.

there is a general purpose mysql banning & admin plugin for use with multiple servers etc already called sourcebans (http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=532620) which is pretty good but it's much bigger than i'm looking right now and like i said, no mysql on tap at the moment.

i don't think i'll ever try to capture rconed bans because eventually this plugin will be the only source of server bans and will handle temp-banned players since they evaporate the instant the server crashes (or changes map?). and besides i'd also planned to have temp-ban feedback etc.

e:
I've switched to SUM (http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=584221) for now since it does most of what i wanted to do eventually and adding the kick message was easy enough.

We looked at sourcebans a while back, but it wasn't as inclusive as we wanted. We wanted something that would track regular everyday sourcemod commands as well as commands from other plugins without having to add code to all those other plugins. We wrote ScuzTools to do that. The second thing we wanted was something that integrated with our forums, so people could, depending on their forum security, add/edit/change accounts. Our forums also require someone to have played in our servers in the last 3 days in order to register, so we have no spam accounts and every forum account is linked to a steam-id. Here's a sample of the "privatized access" server log to give you an idea of what I mean:
